Dark Mode, Autoconnect, Network Mode and More – 25 Oct

Today is the launch of Alpha 2 Update 1, a significant step forward in stability, functionality and overall product quality.

New Stuff

We’ve added a Dark Theme, this is the default and there is currently no way to switch to the light theme, but this will be addressed in a future update.

A new weather system that provides consistency across simulators and allows fine manipulation of weather details along with some presets. The UI is basic at the moment but will be elaborated on in the near future to clear it up and improve the user experience.

Autoconnect will just make setup quicker. Once you have configured a simulator you can configure it to connect automatically on startup. This will be extended to support auto connection to a running simulator when it is detected.

Network mode is not specifically an Update 1 feature but was added for Alpha 2. Allowing you to run and use SimToolkitPro on a secondary device, you start an instance on the simulator machine with “Start as server” checked, then connect over the network with the “Remote” connect button.

The approach tool has been refined to improve the data accuracy and the reports themselves are on the table to be redesigned to improve usability.

Improvements will continue to be made across the app but feedback is important so if you have anything you’d like to see let me know on the Discord. Development is regularly streamed over on twitch at so make sure you are following over there, we are now on Facebook too at, posts here will be shared over there and there will be some support provided there but I want to focus feedback and support to Discord where possible.

The site wiki will be expanded upon as I find time to and will have some tutorials on getting started, I’m also going to try and record some videos to show how to use and get started with SimToolkitPro.
